Prestileo has been drawing since the second grade and has always been sought after for her artwork.
"I was the kid everyone came to and said, 'Shell, can you draw Godzilla?'" she said.
Originally created as a fan site to sing the praises of a favorite Japanese comic series Sailor Moon then a favorite animated television series
Slayers, Prestileo's web address now features her artwork, comics and creative writing.Some of the material is based on characters from her favorite Japanese comics but Prestileo is quick to explain in her pages that her work is not generating revenue but only a way of sharing and gaining feedback for her art.
"I think everything I do is some kind of long shot to get to work for Marvel," said Perstileo, who lists working for the American comic powerhouse as her greatest ambition though her own style leans toward the Japanese originated style known as Manga.
