Artist uses bootstrapping to showcase talents (Part 7)

Like montana
-based bootstrapper Greg Gianforte, who gave away the first prototype of the software from his company RightNow Technologies Inc. to anyone who would use it, Canadian songwriter Brad Turcotte decided to make his music freely available on the net.
On his website, Turcotte writes:
In 2001, I started using the Internet (blogs, MP3s, P2P) to spread my music and not worrying so much about copyright violation.
And he didn't stop there:
I've even been giving the source of my songs away for remixers to play with. I figured that spreading my music should be the number one goal and so far it's worked out pretty well.
Despite this availability, Turcotte, who has dubbed his one man band Brad Sucks, has made enough on licensing of his music for television and other uses that he could afford a first pressing of the songs on CD.
Those CD's continue to sell despite the music's continued free availability on the Internet.
