Bootstrap your elevator pitch
Filed in archive Bootstrapper Tips by Shawn Hessinger on December 5, 2007

A new website aspires to provide entrepreneurs with advice and an opportunity to talk about their ventures and seek capital for startup and growth of their businesses from an international community of investors.
It's called The Street Market and, if it works as advertised, could be a great tool for entrepreneurs seeking to bootstrap their business to funding.
At a cost of just $10 for three months and $7 for one month, the price is low for startup entrepreneurs and is free to use for investors seeking international opportunities.
It's success or failure, like most social networks, will depend upon the number of participating entrepreneur members and the number of credible users they draw to the site to hear the pitch.
Here are some other ways of bootstrapping your elevator pitch on line so to speak.
• Create a blog explaining your idea, pitching it to potential investors and explaining related topics.
• Create an account in Facebook or one of numerous other social networks (here are two great lists to get you started) pitching your idea in the hopes of drawing funding.
• Create a blog on a related topic and use online ads and donations to raise money for your bootstrapping startup.
• Create a YouTube video or podcast giving a brief outline of your idea in the hopes it will be posted to other bloggers' sites and spread virally
• Create an explanation of your business or idea on Squidoo or a PR website in the hopes it will create exposure
