But before long, Field realized that his successful printing business, which at the time was showing an average profit of $80,000 a month, had tapped the local market including the nearby cities of Bozeman and Billings
.Around that time, a customer had come in with a brochure project formatted in Microsoft Publisher, not a common program for professional layout back then, after being turned down at numerous other commercial printers.
The job offered the challenge of converting Microsoft Publisher's red, green and blue color output to the cyan, magenta, yellow and black (see image ShareAlike 2.5 above) necessary for the four color printing process.
However, when one of Field's employees discovered a way to pull it off, it left the entrepreneur realizing he may have discovered a new opportunity to expand his business beyond its current limits.
"We thought to ourselves, 'I wonder how many people out there have Microsoft Publisher," Field recalls.
