Bootstrapping Thoughts
by Shawn Hessinger on January 17, 2008

Those who regularly read this blog are probably aware of my abiding interest in media.
So, I was fascinated with this post by John Crickett via 10 Yetis of the below video showing a BBC crew's shoestring recreating of the Normandy invasion using only three extras and lots of digital effects.
John points out that the project, beyond being a nifty piece of special effects work, exemplifies the bootstrapping ethic.
He's right.
The crew tried to do more with less using cutting edge digital technology to get around the lack of a cast of thousands.
We'll be talking more about how entrepreneurs can consistently find ways to circumvent lack of traditional resources in the coming days.
