I've taken this recommendation very much to heart over the last couple of months. You can't get feedback on something that's never been released to the public.

I also had another reason for believing a more handmade less Slick design might work for the project being discussed. Since the theme of the new network is, after all, independent music, I felt a do-it-yourself vibe would give me just the feel I wanted for my new product line.
