Inexpensive business start-up ideas (Part 4)

Though a variety of techniques exist to launch that low cost business without a major infusion of capital, remember that a new business may cost you more than just start-up and operating expenses.
This is especially the case if you don't have the luxury of continuing to work a regular job while beginning your new business in your spare time.
For example, for the three months it took Denise Aday, Plano, TX, to launch her virtual administration and bookkeeping assistance website Aday VA Solutions, she lived off savings from overtime at her previous job and a layoff package her husband had received.
Her actual start-up cost was little more than a membership in the local chamber of commerce and some extra computer equipment. (Look for a bootstrapper profile on Denise later this week).
Here are some further ideas from Entrepreneur.com about where you may be able to get some of the money you need to get that low-cost start-up off the ground:
• Bootstrapping Your Startup
• Borrowing From Friends & Family
• Credit-Card Financing
• Homebased Financing Options
• Microloans
• Tap Into Your Personal Assets
• Using Your Home Equity
