Entrepreneurship
by Shawn Hessinger on December 24, 2006

When reflecting on what I had learned about choosing the best kind of business to start a couple of posts ago after launching the n10ah Online Music Network last month, I suggested that entrepreneurs:
Pick something you can start today.
As start-up guru Greg Gianforte, an advocate of bootstrapping, the subject of this blog, explains in "Bootstrapping: The secret of entrepreneurial success"
If you go the Bootstrapping route, you can start your business immediately. Immediately! If you want to pursue external funding, on the other hand, you can't start your business until everyone else tells you it's OK.
It stands to reason then, that the best way to start a business is to start with what you already have at hand.
I started n10ah with an investment in a small investment in a domain name, a free Wordpress account, free MSN and Yahoo! Groups and a free community on MyBlogLog.
And check out how I created a free online boutique with customized branded merchandise in these 11 posts called "Fill your boutique in about a week" and 11 companion posts for independent musicians on n10ah called "Inexpensively create T-shirts for your band".
As mentioned earlier, this website started earlier this year as an unpaid business site I simply decided to put up one day.
There was a time I would gave waited for the right equipment, the right training, the right financing, the right (you fill in the blank) before beginning anything.
This year I have learned to use what I've got and see where it takes me.
