Make me an offer!

Make me an offer!

I'm setting pricing for my latest bootstrapped venture and could use your help.

PostRanger.com, the interactive blog network, is up and running and, as you've probably noticed, some guest posting is already going on, mainly for noncommercial purposes with a link back to a writer's website for instance.

However, other guest posting (we're calling it sponsored) will be paid for and will be part of the revenue that keeps the site up and running…and us in business.

I'm using ZooQ, a new problem solving community profiled recently here on BootStrapMe, to get some suggestions on the question of setting prices. Here's what I posted under the challenge section hoping to get a response:

Our interactive blog network PostRanger.com will create opportunities for sponsored guest posting in which a business or service provider would write a post of between 70 and 300 words and a link or several links back to their website where presumably they would offer more information or a direct opportunity to purchase their product or service. The sponsored post would be loaded into the comment section of the network along with the category in which the sponsor prefers that the post be displayed and then it is posted to the site. The sponsored post would then remain on the site for a period of time, perhaps a month or a year, after which the sponsor would be asked to renew or whether the post should be discontinued. What would a good pricing scheme be for such sponsored posts?

Whether you join ZooQ yourself and offer a suggestion there or comment to me via e-mail or in the comment section below, give me an idea what you would pay for this service.

And if you can think of any sponsors that might like to help get us started, please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

It would help our analysis if we knew how many hits the site Postranger.com typically receives. I just checked out the site a few minutes ago and it seems pretty barren. The layout needs a large investment of time. Also, I don’t see much posting either by writers other than you, or comments by readers.
