Burkett also suggests:
4. Offshore only those processes that can easily be repeated elsewhere.
5. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever offshore a core competency.
6. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever offshore sensitive information or tasks. Always remain security conscious!
7. Whenever possible, offshore only discrete tasks. Remember the KISS principle? Keep it simple for the folks overseas and save yourself some headaches later.
8. Don't be blinded by the savings - play the role of realist - consider the opportunity costs if things go sour.
