When outsourcing or offshoring functions, either of which might be the case with Gourab Nanda's India-based service center, Atlanta-based technologist and entrepreneur Scott Burkett recommends (though more geared toward some sort of offshored software engineeringlinks):

1. Only offshore things that you don't mind losing a bit of control over. In the end, you could have very little of it.

2. Only offshore things that are not mission-critical.

3. Mitigate your risk - don't put all of your eggs in one basket by offshoring everything you do.
