Social networks and your bootstrap business (Part 3)

If your aim is more toward timely articles than collecting a social network around your particular writings or products than one of a growing number of news sites might be the thing for your business.
Newsvine.com is one of the sites I'm most fond of and one I've encouraged readers of my bootstrapped business PostRanger.com to visit and share posts from the new network.
As I explained in this previous article on the PostRanger blog, quoting in turn from the Newsvine homepage, this dynamic community is:
• ...the fastest place to read and discuss news stories from every news source in the world.
• ...the news adjusts based on what users find important.
The website also allows you to:
• Create a trail of interesting news stories you read on the web and publish them to Newsvineinstantly
• Set up your column in seconds and begin writing articles for friends or the world to discuss
Like Digg, another comparable site that has received much more press it seems, Newsvine warns against self-promotion of one's own posts on the site.
But, of course, with a free Newsvine account the bootstrap entrepreneur can link to other articles across the web in his/her area of specialty establishing expertise and encouraging other members in turn to post entries linked to the bootstrapper's business website.
Therefore sites like Newsvine can be ideal forums for businesses with a blog that supplies regular updates on information directly connected to the business's products.
Give it a try!
