Entrepreneur.com took a look recently at what's required when starting up a home based business, and there's a lot in it that's applicable to many of us in the bootstrapping world.
The move from a fully-equipped office--with copiers, doughnuts and an IT specialist--to a home-based office can be tricky. What elements are essential and what can you outsource so you can effectively start, run and manage your business? The article looks at everything from online marketing and IT outsourcing to the basics of invoicing and record keeping.
The same daily operations need to be taken care of and your computer will still crash, but there are people and programs out there to help.
Bottom line: home-based business aren't as easy to start as you might think, but the resources are available it you know where to look for them. It's a useful article.
