Startup-Friendly Industries

How do you decide whether opening your own startup business is a good idea?

Consider a couple of things. How example, how much startup capital does it take to get into the industry? How long does it take to move a business from opening its doors to profitability? What kind of grow forecast is there for the industry? And how much competition will you face?

IBISWorld recently looked at those factors for 700 industries and came up with a handful that "ripe for startups." They include elderly services, e-commerce & online auctions, landscaping services, fashion design, community food services, and education services.

You can read a detailed discussion of the opportunities in those industries here.
