VC gives bootstrapping advice (Part 1)

For those who view venture capitalists and bootstrappers as existing at opposite ends of the entrepreneurial spectrum, here are 10 thoughts from an August 2004 post by Brad Feld, managing director at Mobius Venture Capital.
In the post on his Feld Thoughts blog, Feld acknowledges that he feels "strongly that VCs are only a small part of the entrepreneurial / company creation ecosystem and the vast majority of companies that get created never take VC money."
He also harkens back to his own experiences with bootstrapping as a young entrepreneur saying:
(my first business raised $10 – we had 10 shares of stock at $1 each – and – when we sold it – each share made a share of Google seem like a penny stock -although we only had 10 of them.)
I have to admit that my own view is sometimes somewhat polarized as I told Brad in a message at MyBlogLog where his community and my own Bootstrapper's Club are neighbors.
