VC post argues for bootstrapping (Part 1)

It's interesting how many of blogger and venture capital associate Rob Finn's "75 Blog Posts to Read Before Talking to a VC" turn out to be an argument not to seek VC or other outside investment for your start-up now…or ever.
Here's a brief overview of only some of the examples:
• Business advisor Boyd Stowe and Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures agree most start-ups, particularly in the tech innovation field, just don't need it (They'd suggest a new breed of more highly compensated consulting instead)
• In two separate posts Director of Business Development for Microsoft's Emerging Business Team Don Dodge suggests his company would rather work with bootstrap partners than invest equity anyway
• Some observations can be inferred from this post about the kinds of companies seeking acquisition or investment in the first place (They may not be healthy bootstrapped operations with a concrete growing revenue)
• hillary Johnson suggests most larger corporations simply acquire smaller start-ups for a regular infusion of innovation. (Kind of makes you wonder what becomes of these little companies once they're in the belly of the beast)
• Scroll down Charlie O'Donnell's "10 Steps to a Hugely Successful Web 2.0 Company" to number nine. Nuff said
