Why the bootstrap entrepreneur needs to learn design (Part 1)
And with the launch of Bootstrap Design as what we hope will be the first of a growing number of spin-offs from this site, perhaps it would be a good time to discuss why bootstrap entrepreneurs would need to learn design in the first place.

In a four part article on the new website entitled "Why bootstrap design?", I try to answer just that question.

Here is the result:

When interviewing bootstrap entrepreneur Jed Rapaport for another of my blogs BootStrapMe.com, I discovered something surprising.

Of all the things Rapaport refused to spend money on---radio and newspaper advertising, new equipment for the bake shop he and partner Haika Powell launched early last year-it seems that money for a custom designed web site wasn't one of them.
